Nanny has taken a little lesson from the history books, and is employing a rather nasty little technique once used by the Nazis.
Nanny's Gauliters in her local councils are employing children to act as spies.
Catch them young and they will yours forever!
The Telegraph reports that one in six councils contacted have signed up children to be “environment volunteers”.
Sounds nice and cuddly and greeny doesn't it? Errmmm…maybe not.
For
you see dear readers Nanny's little helpers are being encouraged to
photograph and video people who infringe local council rules; eg dog
fouling, littering and Nanny's most heinous of all crimes…
BIN CRIMES!!!!
As an added bonus the kids are being paid £500 a pop by some councils.
Seems
to me a clever kid and parent could come up with a nice little money
making scheme, whereby the kid's reward exceeds the council's fine.
Nanny
refers to these new recruits as “covert human intelligence sources”,
they will pass on the names and number plates of neighbours who are
guilty of breaking Nanny's laws. A recipe for all sorts of petty neighbourhood vendettas to be started and settled!
I wonder what kind of adults these kids will turn into?
Ealing Council said:
“There
are hundreds of Junior Streetwatchers, aged 8-10 years old, who are
trained to identify and report enviro-crime issues such as graffiti and
fly-tipping.”
Some kids are assigned code numbers, which they use instead of their real names when they ring a special informer's hotline.
Completely ghastly and very frightening! Who is thinking of the Children now?

I would also counter that this is ILLEGAL. What does the law say about child employment?
The following rules are connected to employing young
children (if they are paid or not).
- No work is to be carried out during school hours or during school lunch breaks
- No work is to be carried before 7am or after 7pm
- Only
2 hours work can be carried out on a school weekday of which no more
than one hour of this can be carried out before the start of school
hours
- Work should last no longer than 2 hours on a Sunday
- Work
should last no longer than 8 hours during a Saturday or during a school
holiday. This is reduced to 5 hours for those aged under 15
- Work should last no longer than 35 hours per week during school holidays. This is reduced to 25 hours for those aged under 15
- Work should last no longer than 12 hours per week when the child is attending school
- Young children should have at least a 2 week break during the school holidays or at any point during the school year
And do the Parents know that their children have been signed up for this Hitler Brown Youth work?
All employers wanting to employ a child before the school leaving age
(which Government have just raised) should obtain an application form (from the Education Welfare Service),
signed by the employer, parents and head teacher.
A copy of the form should then be sent to the school before the child begins employment.
This hideous scheme needs to be tested in the courts utilising Child Employment laws, parents or children's welfare organisations should not be complacent out this.
Oh, and just so you know. Ealing is a Tory run council.
A Libertarian Government would outlaw and punish such political exploitation of Children.

and if all these child informers only ratted on their parents once, at £500 quid a time, that is potentially £2,409,500 of your money being spent illegally.
If they all reported someone every day, that would amount to £879,467,500 a year. or £182,500 a year per child informer.
Ask your Councillors why they are spending your council tax money illegally, ask your councillors why they are exploiting children for political purposes.
