Matt Davies over at Woking Libertarians tells us about another taxpayer funded eco-quango poking its nose in and telling us how to do the most simple of things, something that we have all been doing for years. Making the bloody tea.

In the latest initiative designed to make us more environmentally
friendly, Government advisers are calling on businesses to appoint tea
monitors.

TEA MONITORS? Is this government and its cronies living like pimps from your hard earned taxes determined to infantile everything? Are you not sick to the back teeth of this?

Envirowise – which gets £10million a year from taxpayers to advise
businesses on being green – says the crackdown will cut greenhouse gas
emissions and help beleaguered businesses save money.

To save 2p this band of loonies is suggesting that £10 million a year in tax funding, and a monitor employed at every firm at an average say of £16k per year is saving money. Some crackdown.

Have these green ignoramuses forgotten that the British have been making Tea for generations, and we don't need busybodies telling us how to do it.

Scrap them all, kill off the funding, and give the tax back. That is the simple answer that the Libertarian Party will provide for you. No more advice on making tea, just plain simple policies that allow you to decide how to live your life.

You can read Matt's article in full here.

Now my blood has stopped boiling, I shall have a nice cup of coffee and remind myself that 1984 isn't an instruction manual. Let's hope the 1984 campaign reminds our MP's of that tomorrow.

Can you hear that sound MP's. All 646 of you cannot be deaf. Its not the tea that's brewing, its a storm. A storm of public backlash to stupid, interfering busybodies like this, wasting tax money coerced by traitors.

As 646 copies of Orwell's dystopian classic wing their way to our elected representatives, it seems an appropriate time to repost the below.

The 646 People Responsible For All Of Britain's Woes

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have
you ever wondered why, if both the Conservative and Labour parties are
against national debt, we have a national debt? Have you ever wondered
why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we
have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a budget.
The Chancellor does. You and I don't have the authority to vote on
Government spending plans. Members of Parliament do. You and I don't
write the tax code. Members of Parliament do. You and I don't set
fiscal policy. Members of Parliament do. You and I don't control
monetary policy. The Chancellor does, and the Bank of England follows
his instructions.

646 Members of Parliament — 646 human beings
out of our 60 million population — are directly, legally, morally and
individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this
country.

I've excluded the House of Lords for a sound reason.
They don't originate legislation, and any suggestions that they make
can be overruled by the House of Commons. Members of Parliament, and
Members of Parliament alone, are responsible for legislation.

I've
excluded all of the special interest groups and lobbyists for a sound
reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a
Member of Parliament to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if
they offer an MP one million pounds in cold, hard cash. The MP has the
power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Don't
you see how the con game is played on the people by the politicians?
Those 646 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that
what they did is not their fault. They co-operate in this timeless con
regardless of party.

When a politician speaks of honour, it's
the kind that's only found amongst thieves. When they speak of trust,
you know it's yours that they will be taking advantage of.

It
seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 60 million cannot replace
646 people who stand convicted — on a daily basis — of gross
incompetence and irresponsibility.

When you fully grasp the
plain truth that 646 people exercise the power of our national
government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to
exist.

If the tax system is unfair, it's because they want it
unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the
red. If our troops are in Iraq, it's because they want them in Iraq.

There
are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 646 people shift
the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can
abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to
regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they
can take it.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief
that there exist disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,”
“inflation” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they took
an oath to do.

These 646 people and they alone are responsible.
They and they alone have the power. They and they alone should be held
accountable by the people who are their bosses. These 646 people are
employed by us, to work for us, but have miserably failed us at every
turn.

It's time to sack every last one of them.

Lindsay
Roy is under the impression that he can actually do something for the
people who he hopes will elect him to a nice comfy leather seat at
Westminster…

This taken from the Scottish Labour web site…

Lindsay Roy says:
“My Action Plan for Fife will help people here with their own lives”.

A summary of Lindsay’s Action Plan for Fife

Crack down on anti-social behaviour
Visible policing, zero tolerance to drugs, action on underage drinking.
REALITY: Devolved issues – irrelevant to a Westminster MP.

A citizens’ panel to decide where new CCTV should go.
REALITY: Devolved issue – irrelevant to a Westminster MP.

Fight for more opportunities for young people
More
sports and recreation facilities for Fife , including public
consultation with young people to decide where new pitches should go.
REALITY: Devolved issue – irrelevant to a Westminster MP.

Campaign
against Fife Council privatising golf courses and convene an urgent
meeting with top cinema chiefs to start bringing a new cinema to
central Fife.
REALITY: FORE!! Really, really irrelevant to a Westminster MP.

Sort out the roads and buses
Support dualling and upgrading the A92.
REALITY: Yawn – guess what? Devolved issue – irrelevant to a Westminster MP.
(However, if you wanna mess with an English A road, then fill your boots!)

Demand a clear timetable and funding plan for the Forth Road Bridge that the SNP have delayed.
REALITY: Don’t
bother mate, they won’t take any notice of you as this is a devolved
issue and therefore has bugger all to do with the likes of you!

(Mind
you, English road tolls have bugger all to do with as well – but it
won't stop you voting on them at Westminster, will it?)

Give powers back to Fifers so local people can make decisions about their buses.
REALITY: Sorry, yet again you no can do – bus stuff is a devolved issue).
(How about giving power to Englishers?)

Help Fife families through tough times
Benefit “check-ups” to ensure pensioners get the benefits they deserve – including the new, free insulation.
REALITY:
Oy, nosey! You can’t do anything about this – again! Nowt to do with
you old Son as it is a de-bleeding-volved bleeding-issue, geddit?
(But
what about English pensioners, Lindsay? They don't get any of those
nice, juicy benefits, including free insulation, do they).

Outlaw overcharging people on pre-pay meters and fight the SNP local income tax.
REALITY:
Lindsay, mate – fighting the SNP over their local income tax can only
be done in the place where they are producing the legislation. And that
ain’t in Westminster
!(HA ha…. You should see what we are charged down here Lindsay!)

Oppose greedy oil bosses who keep petrol costs high.
REALITY: Hal-ay-bleeding-leuauh!!!
Who’d have thought it! Finally, finally on Lindsey’s action plan,
SOMETHING that actually concerns him!…… But as oil prices are set
at an international price, and as HM government takes over 70% in tax
from the selling price, and as both Brown and Darling have said they
cannot touch the oil companies, I don’t think there is much chance of
anyone taking any notice of Lindsay… Will they?

Our tip:
Lindsay baby, if you want to actually do something, actually try to
effect any of those items on your ‘action plan’, we reckon you should
try and get elected to the Scottish Parliament….. but who knows,
maybe you’d rather be content with doing bugger all at Westminster?

We dont want to say that he is telling lies, but stop lying to the electorate!!.

We trust that the help you have drafted in from Tom Harris MP will be as equally as honest, as it appears that he feels unable to engage in political dialogue with the people of his own constituency and those who ask him questions on his blog.

The Mail: Coastguards have been banned from using flares in rescue missions after they were ruled to be a risk to health and safety.

The
Maritime and Coastguard Agency says the devices, which are used to
illuminate large areas of land and sea during night-time searches,
could cause 'considerable injury'.

Rescue teams have been told
to use 'safer' alternatives such as torches and night-vision goggles
during land-based cliff and beach rescues.

All 400
Coastguard rescue teams now have until the end of the year to use up
their cache of flares or hand them over to the Ministry of Defence for
disposal.

Yesterday volunteers claimed the decision will put
lives at risk because flares are essential for locating lost people and
vessels in the dark.

One crewman said: 'This is the most
stupid, ignorant thing I've heard of. Flares light up the entire sky
and aid rescue missions – something that obviously can't be done with a
hand-held torch.

When it comes to saving lives, making rescue attempts in the most dangerous of conditions, the brave men and women of the emergency services should have every conceivable device available to them, utilising the judgement of those who put themselves in peril to save others.

The Libertarian Party totally condemn this ridiculous bureaucratic act and would immediately reverse this most stupid of decisions by the Health & Safety executive.

It is now all too clear that the most dangerous thing to the life and limb of the British public, is the British Government.

Perhaps the faceless idiot who made this rule should be taken out to mid Atlantic in a small boat, and then ask his colleagues to find him with torches.

++++ PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ++++

November 4th 2008

A COPY OF ORWELL'S 'NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR' SENT TO EVERY MP

An Internet grass-roots campaign will this week deliver a copy of GeorgeOrwell's prophetic novel 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' to every Member ofParliament.

The books will be inscribed with the words, 'This book was a warning, not ablueprint', and will arrive at Parliament on or before November 5th -- adate of well known historical significance for that building.

---------------

Outraged by the continual attack upon civil liberties within our nation, afortnight ago the Libertarian Party proposed reminding those in Westminsterwho they were elected to serve, and in whose interests the laws that theypass are meant to function.

Spread purely by word of mouth, a campaign to send each Member of Parliamenttheir own copy of Orwell's dystopian classic met with overwhelming supporton the Internet, with many more books pledged than the 646 required toensure that every one of our elected representatives receive a personalcopy. The Libertarian Party contributed just 75 books itself, with theremainder coming (directly, or via campaign donations) from people of allpolitical parties, and of none.

The UK Libertarian Party leader, Ian Parker-Joseph, explained, "As thepeople of Britain become ever more spied upon and ever more heavily taxed,as the government attempts to control how much we should smoke, eat anddrink, as the state legislates to regulate ever more the minutiae of ourlives, the Libertarian Party want to remind people that we have the power, and that our elected representatives work for us.

"The Libertarian Party would like the people of Britain to remember that thestate is the servant of the people, and not our master. Moreover, we wish toremind those in Westminster of this fact.

"Many constituents of these MPs will be adding their own personal messagesto the books that they are sending," added Mr Parker-Joseph, "and it is asad reflection of how far towards Orwell's vision our country has alreadyslipped that some members of the public have expressed fear at the potentialconsequences of simply sending their MP a 60 year old novel. Onecorrespondent wrote to me:

<< I told my wife I was taking part in this campaign and her and thechildren’s answer was “don’t do it, you will get into trouble and have themafter us”. I have been told on numerous occasions by my wife that you cannotwin against the State so “why argue with them, why complain?”

She believes that you cannot fight against the Government or powers that beand that if you do you will be watched and eventually “they” will come andget you so it is best not to complain, make waves etc. >>

"What sort of society are we living in where people are so afraid of theirgovernment? Something is very, very wrong here" concluded Mr Parker-Joseph.

Well that is what we have done.

Now, what are you going to do to stop Big Brother?
you could start by writing to your MP, you could write to your local newspaper, and you could tell all your friends and let them read what we have done. Write to the Press and ask them why they are not covering this story. If you are unsure of the links between the 1984 Big Brother book and Britain today, like some of our MP's, then read this comparison. The more people that know about it, the more pressure we can put on our MP's to behave in a responsible way, and only make laws that are good for the people. We have had a huge surge in membership because of this campaign, and obviously the stronger we become as a party, the less they can ignore us. In a free society, the rights and laws protect the individual from the government. In a dictatorship, the rights and laws protect the government from the people. UPDATE: IT Suppliers admit collusion with Labour to crack down on the people.
