It would seem that pressure over the new European Constitution is growing – right across Europe

In Germany it is estimated that 80 per cent of them want a referendum on the constitution and 60 per cent believe that EU membership has brought them no benefits whatever. Story on The First Post.

The Telegraph reports: A “hard core” of at least 40 Labour MPs in the UK are poised to issue the Prime Minister with an ultimatum to re-open talks on the treaty or concede a referendum.

Also in the UK, the TUC is wading into the debate, with at least 2 big unions GMB and RMT backing the call for a referendum.

DutchNews.nl, reports: The Dutch Labour party has a mini rebellion on its hands that could, if not properly managed, turn into a fully-fledged coup. Around 25 party members including a number of big names, want the party to become more left wing. They want to fight moves to make it easier to sack people, a super tax on the wealthy and a referendum over the new EU treaty.

Meanwhile Belgium slides into a constitutional crisis as Polls are being conducted on whether Flanders should claim independence or try to unite with the Netherlands, and though all of this no sign of a new Belgian government being formed.

We can only assume that Merkel and Brown got the message as they were being boo'd by both England and German fans during their appearance on the big screen at the new Wembley Stadium this week for the friendly International match.

If they didnt, then there is a Pro referendum Rally taking place in London on SATURDAY 27TH OCTOBER 2007. There will be 4 separate rally routes into London – North, South, East and West, converging at Trafalgar Square, proceeding up The Mall and culminating in Hyde Park (the only venue in central London capable of accommodating this size of rally +500,000).

So says the excellent Jeff Randall in the Telegraph
today. He hits every nail on the head as he points out Labour's lies,
spin, fiddled statistics and the contempt with which it treats the
public:

This Government has
learned to rule effectively through an Orwellian capacity for
presenting falsehood as fact, the most dire example of which was
Weapons of Mass Destruction.

When Labour cannot meet its targets
or match outcomes with expectations, such as on education, then it
simply claims to have done so, fiddling the figures and cooking the
books.

This needs to be repeated over and over so people understand the true nature of this government.
