Not content with getting their hands on the
identity of everyone in the western world, access to their personal data,
their bank accounts, the phone records and emails, they now want to take over
the very workings of the internet.

This report
outlines how they are now pressurising international bodies to hand over the
key signing keys for DNS resolutions. 

Access to the “key-signing key”
would give US authorities a supervisory role over DNS lookups, vital for all
internet functions ranging from email delivery to surfing the net.

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority
(IANA), the ICANN body which handles route management, could be assigned the
role of safeguarding the keys. But since the US government has reserved the
right the to oversee ICANN this proposal creates as many problems as it solves
by making it more difficult to persuade the US into giving up this role, which
those outside the US see as anachronistic.
 

The Total Awareness programme is quickly
becoming the Total Control programme.

Whatever
they tell you today, you can be sure it will be used for something different
tomorrow.

We have already
established that you can be arrested or detained for vitually anything, have
your DNA and fingerprints taken, and now with the
forced registration for ID cards and Passports within 7 years every member of
the population will be marked and tagged. 

We have already
established that despite assurances from our ‘leaders’ that this data will
remain safe and secure, it is already being shared right across Europe. 

Now that the unelected European Commission has all your data, they are now
negotiating with the US to give it to them as well. Against the wishes of the elected European Parliament.

The spectre of
the Total Awareness Programme is becoming the reality. 

This latest report
from the Register,
gives the European reasoning behind this data sharing.

Europe and the US have begun to plot the direction of a
data sharing link between their police and immigration forces.

It's a long way off, but indications after talks in Berlin today between European and US negotiators
are that both sides are in agreement that's where they are headed.

“Our common goals are clear,” Franco
Frattini, vice president of the European Commission and head of the justice
directorate, said in a written statement.

The idea was to protect citizens and the means was to
give police authorities the information they needed to do it.

“We must closely coordinate our efforts, share
information and cooperate on law enforcement as much as possible,” he
said.

Frattini, along with Wolfgang Schäuble, federal
minister of the interior for the German presidency of the EU, and
representatives of the upcoming Portuguese presidency, reached an agreement
with a US team led by Michael Chertoff, the wording of which
they have not published.

 

So
who is Michael Chertoff?. A policeman?, a member of the US Justice Dept?. NO. He is the
Secretary of Homeland Security. The US intelligence agency
responsible for the Total Awareness Programme.
