I know I have written
about this subject before,
but now the time for voting us apon us, we must look at the legitimacy of the
system employed by the government to collect and count our votes.

It is being
widely reported
here and again here
that Government pushed for new postal scanning systems and electronic voting
systems to be made available, even though no testing of these systems has taken
place, and in some cases the equipment has not been delivered to local
councils. The Security of the electronic voting systems is also in question.

The threat to the
British people of abuse of the electoral system is huge, and the desire of
Labour to win at all costs is even higher.

The chairman of
the Committee on Standards in Public Life Sir Alistair Graham, suggested in February
that electoral fraud has increased sharply as a result of postal voting, and
that e-voting should be postponed or scrapped.

Even today, John
Turner, the chief executive of the Association of Electoral Administrators, said
that a new system for vote counting may not be up to the job.

Turner has warned
that because of the rushed implementation legitimate votes could be rejected,
and councils may have to postpone the count as returning officers resort to the
manual checking of thousands and thousands of ballot papers.

He said the new system should
have been piloted at a small number of local authorities. “It could then
have been rolled out on a national basis in 2008,” he said. The government
decided to go ahead this year, however.

The BBC is reporting massive increases in demand for postal votes, up by 600% in some areas, and we wonder whether this is anything to do with the revelations earlier this week of EU citizens and immigrant voting rights. Is it possible that newly arrived immigrants are being targeted and being told to vote in this way.

Don’t be
surprised to see many Labour councillors returned in areas where everyone
thought that they stood no chance. If this is allowed to go unmonitored and
unchecked, then the very idea of democracy is dead in this country.

Its time for
International Monitors to watch over those who are responsible for counting the
votes, in the name of democracy and freedom. A delegation from the Council of
Europe looked at this in early February, but their report has never been
published.

As has been
coming to light over recent months, Gordon Brown has been hiding a lot of the
government spending off the books, hiding it in
PFI agreements that have not been fully
reported to parliament and are not configured in the governments P&L sheet.

When the
government announced that the Fire Service was to upgrade its systems it would
have been reasonable to assume that any purchases would be conducted via the
OGC system in the normal manner, using the purchasing power to ensure that the
best value for money was obtained.

According to the Communities
and Local Government website
a Limited Company was set up to do the purchasing, Firebuy Ltd.

Companies House
tells us that Firebuy Ltd was established on 20/09/2005, but the C&LG website
tells us that Firebuy Ltd was established 30 March 2006 as a non-departmental
public body (NDPB) to procure equipment nationally for the Fire and Rescue
Service (
FRS), and that the new Managing Director is Terry
Brewer, on a salary of £100,000.

Terry Brewer has
been the interim CEO of Firebuy Ltd since its creation in March 2006 and was
responsible for the initial work on the national procurement strategy that led to
the creation of Firebuy Ltd.

Terry was also
head of procurement for the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority
(LFEPA) responsible for a purchasing budget of over £20million. He was
responsible for successfully project managing and implementation of the
Authority’s public finance initiative (
PFI) vehicles and equipment project which
went live in 2001.

Is it normal that
non-departmental public bodies are Limited companies?

Is such a limited
company subject to the normal tax regimes that all other limited companies are
subjected to.?

Who are the shareholders and other
directors of Firebuy Ltd, and what responsibilities do they have as directors
of a limited company.?

How many other ‘Limited
Companies’ does the government own.?

Are these
companies subject to the Freedom of Information Act, or would they be commercial
interest exemptions?

How does the
Treasury account for the expenditure?

A case of creative accounting? Just sounds fishy
to me
.

When politicians in
America of whatever rank are caught with their
fingers in the till, the FBI upholds the constitution and the laws of the land.

Rep. John
Doolittle, whose house was searched by the FBI in an influence-peddling
investigation, said Thursday he will step down temporarily from the House
Appropriations Committee.

The announcement
by the nine-term California Republican came one day after the disclosure that
agents had raided his home in
Oakton, Virginia. In the search last Friday, the FBI had a
warrant for information connected with a fundraising business run by
Doolittle's wife, Julie, that had done work for convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Doolittle's ties
to Abramoff have come under scrutiny in the corruption investigation that has
sent one former Republican congressman, Bob Ney of
Ohio, to prison on a guilty plea to charges of
conspiracy and making false statements, and produced convictions against two
senior Bush administration officials and several congressional aides. (source).

engaging in corrupt acts then go get them. Start being the Policemen that you
are paid to be, instead of the political flunkies that you appear to be.
