Britain is broke, bankrupt. Gordon Brown
has had 13 years of uninterrupted growth yet the country is somehow in heavy
overdraft, with little scope for further public spending, but Gordon Brown has
a plan to make it up with new taxes, so to kick start the process he launches a
propaganda press campaign.
The report from the independent Institute for Fiscal
Studies showed this week that Gordon Brown has little room for manoeuvre
with his fiscal policies, which are likely to begin to unravel just about the
time he moves into No10.
We see reports on a weekly basis how
funding for the Neighbourhood Policing schemes are being withdrawn in counties
right across the country, funding for new prison places was rejected, funding
for the Olympics is not available, as well as for NHS schemes, hospitals in
deficit, repayment to police forces for anti terrorist activity is not
forthcoming, even down to nursery places being reduced. The Treasury has
no more funds to play with.
The money has all been spent in the
billions upon billions of pounds on frivolous and costly government IT
projects, on refurbishments like the MoD H.Q. (£3.2b), or wasted on the
expenses of spend happy departments, like the DWP spending £11.6 million per
year on hotel accommodation (this figure does not include foreign hotel
accommodation which is apparently recorded separately).
So what is Gordon Brown and his Chancellor
in waiting Ed Balls to do. ?
Go to the IMF and ask for help? Look
to our allies the Americans to bale as out as they did after the last war? NO.
Gordon is going to scare us into paying
green taxes. Billions and billions of pounds in green taxes.
The onslaught has already begun, with the
passenger tax on airline travel, being collected although it has not been
approved by parliament.
But the release of the Stern review is the
mother of all green scare tactics.
The report has sent shock waves around the
world, not as one would expect because of its accuracy in foretelling of what
is happening to the world, but in its ability to inflate figures beyond belief
and scare people into accepting what Gordon is going to unleash on us. TAX.
The Stern report is comprehensively ripped
to pieces in a Wall
St Journal editorial, which states that it has distorted facts, is biased
and one sided, used a calculus known only to the British Treasury and that its
estimates of GDP required to tackle global warming are not
just inflated but astronomically exaggerated. (UN and other national reports
quote 0.2 to 3pct, Stern reports 20pct.)
Gordon Brown's plan is to make up the
shortfall in the Treasury with massive new green taxes, backed up by the Stern
review.
The Tax receipts need to be high, so the
values in the Stern report needed to be equally high.
In this we have seen how local authorities
have changed their practices in waste disposal, i.e. moving to 2 weekly
collections, newly employing exterminators when a vermin problem begins to
occur, applying fines for people who pack the wrong bins, or do not have or use
bins. This will only get worse and more draconian.
But the big stuff is yet to come.
New green taxes on car emissions, a green tax on vehicle fuels, which will also
mean an increase in VAT, road pricing, green taxes on foodstuffs grown with oil
based fertilisers, green taxes on factories (on top of the Co2 taxes already
charged), taxes any manufacturing facility, taxes on air travel increased even
further, rail pricing taxes, haulage firm surcharges, green taxes on car park
spaces, even green taxes on the local and central government services you
already pay for through taxes to cover their carbon emissions,
And the sneak trick, is to ‘indoctrinate’
our children with Al Gore’s film “An Inconvenient Truth”, by sending
it out to every school in the country, knowing that just like the sweetie
counter at the checkout in the supermarket, child pressure is something that
parents largely give into.
A
very carefully planned stage managed public acceptance for more taxes.
Sir Nicholas Stern, who was once the Chief
Economist and Senior Vice-President of the World Bank (2000 to 2003) is a
Banker, not an expert on global environmental studies, which is heavily massaged to suit Gordon Brown's objectives (see BBC
and Telegraph)
and Al Gore was a university drop out, and never studied any of the sciences.
This is about making money, not good
science to save the planet. The government policies in response to this report will
change very little, but will raise an awful lot of money for the treasury.
Several leading scientists have now produced critiques of
Stern. As they read his report, some found that he used their own work — the
document is a review of the literature on the subject, not a new piece of
research — but played fast and loose with it.
So, Government broke, commission Stern
report, scare tactics, propaganda taught in schools, propaganda in the press
(lets see how many opposing press items you can find), and generate TAXES, lots
and lots of green TAXES.
The report has been
rubbished, ripped to pieces, so why are the Media in the Brown pocket still
printing this propaganda?
Do not confuse the Stern report (rubbish) with the The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change – IPCC (good report).
