The incredible law scribes working at the Home
Office, run by (ex) Communist Dr John Reid is working overtime with new and
re-inventive ways to detain and control the population of
Britain.

The latest offering is the Super ASBO, whereby police will have
the power to apply a curfew, movement restrictions, force you to live in a
named hostel, have you placed on the violent and sex offender register BEFORE you even commit an offence.  And any breach could lead to up to five years
in jail.

These new “super-Asbo’s” will be aimed not
only at people who have a history of violent behaviour or who have just left
prison but also anyone who may not yet have committed an offence.

A Home Office document outlining the plan,
to be published next month, says that the measures will ban potential
trouble-makers from certain areas or mixing with certain people, alert police
when they move house and possibly force them to live in a named hostel, give
details of vehicles they own and impose a curfew on them.

The criteria for being targeted by this new
law include a person’s formative years and upbringing, “cognitive
deficiencies”, “entrenched pro-criminal or antisocial attitudes,” “a history of
substance abuse or mental health issues”, as well as more obvious signs such as
“possession of paraphernalia related to violent offending (eg, balaclava,
baseball bat), or extremist material”.

My interpretation of this is, if you’re not
quite as quick as everyone else you’re a target, if you mix with the wrong
crowd, you’re a target, describe antisocial attitudes, does that include
bloggers? And if you like to spend Sunday afternoon in a chill wind with your
son, wearing a balaclava and playing baseball (perhaps cricket bats are exempt?),
you’re a target, and just what the hell extremist material will consist of is
totally open, but it does have political connotations rather than violent ones.

The police or probation service (which is
to be outsourced like traffic wardens with targets to meet), would apply for
the orders to the civil courts, where the threshold for proof is lower than in
a criminal case, the process will therefore be much quicker and hearsay
evidence will be permitted to obtain an order against a suspect.   Sounds just like the old communist laws, and
before that Nazi ones.

The reasoning: A report out today, by the
Centre for Crime and Justice Studies in association with The Sunday
Times
, reveals that almost half of the offenders caught by police are
getting away without a court punishment, robberies have risen and murders are
up by a third, even though we already have more than enough laws to deal with
them.

This new proposed legislation is not the
answer.  This new proposed legislation is
not the answer to anything.

Whereas the plethora of laws made everyone
a suspect, now everyone in
Britain
is GUILTY before you have even done anything.

Make for a better judiciary, yes, but not
with draconian, totalitarian laws like this one, and the betting is that it
will be exempt from the FOI so we will never know how many people they have rounded
up or how it has been applied. It was a very similar law that was used by the
Germans to round up not only Jews, but Gypsies, Romanies, the Mentally ill,
petty thieves and robbers and put them into concentration camps.

The potential for another secretive catch
all law allowing Government or Police abuse of power is enormous.

Once the government have criminalised
everyone with the array of totalitarian laws they have passed since coming to
power, it will by default mean that no-one will ever get a job, because the
CRB check will show a
criminal record, and they will never be able to travel for the same reason.  Talk about creating polarised communities.

Total
Control.

In a
free society, the rights and laws protect the individual from the government.

In a
dictatorship, the rights and laws protect the government from the people.

Control.

In a
dictatorship, the rights and laws protect the government from the people.

Do you ever feel
that the Press just promote government policies, repeating verbatim
departmental press releases, and run stories to promote a political bias.

What began as a simple
human interest story in The Scotsman earlier last week was quickly picked up by
The
Daily Mail
, 10/1/06, then by the
BBC on their South Today programme 12/1/06, and printed
on the BBC
website 13/1/06, about an exhibition, simply one persons childhood collection
of golly badges, has been manipulated into something ugly.

Upon finding that
no-one had complained about the racist potential of the exhibition, either to
the exhibitor or the exhibition hall, they manufactured a story to give the
impression that there was a racist row over it.

So, not having a
story at all, did the The Daily Mail and
BBC decide to invent one, along the lines of;

It is  noticed that there is an exhibition of gollies.

Someone
decides that it must produce a story telling us how people don't like gollies.

They ring up the exhibition's organisers to
see if anyone has complained.

They are shocked to discover that no-one
has.

They  cannot let this go, and decides to find
someone who doesn't like the gollies.

They phone obscure academic who says that
gollies are evil etc.

They then present his quotes in such a way
as  to make it look as if there has been an exchange of views between the
exhibition's organisers and obscure academic – ie, a 'row'.

They can now be satisfied that it has
presented a version of the'truth' that fits in with their ideology.

The obscure
academic they contacted was a Dr John Molyneux,
a senior lecturer in Historical and Theoretical Studies at the
School of Art, Design and Media, at the University of Portsmouth.

Dr Molyneux is a leading Trotskyist, a member
of the Socialist Workers Party and former central committee member, with
affiliations to the Communist Party of Great Britain. (Dr John Reid’s old mob).

Having picked up
the story, the
BBC
then went on to print the Daily Mail version of the story, even quoting the
same ‘academic’.

Was this all a
big set up, because I smell a rat.

Having first
noticed this story on Tim Worstall’s
blog
, I felt the need to comment here because this story smack of 3 things.

  1. Political manipulation.  Is this story being invented and hyped,
using old contacts from the CPGB, even though it’s a non story, in order
to deflect attention from Dr Reid’s current problems at the Home Office.
  2. Political manipulation. Is this story
being invented and hyped, using old contacts from the CPGB, even though it’s
a non story, in order to embarrass Dr Reid when the old associations are revealed.
  3. In trying to promote a view that was
not in the story in the first place, is the
BBC and The Daily Mail guilty of
    incitement to promote racial hatred.

If the events
of  this story as described in Tim’s blog
are in any way true, then we should insist that it is investigated by the
authorities, and if they find enough evidence, press home a prosecution on the
BBC and The Daily Mail.

The press and
media must be seen as the guardians and watchdogs of our freedoms and
liberties, by exposing the lies and misdemeanours of those in power, must be
seen to only tell the truth, and be prevented from playing underhand political
games.

Promoting stories
that create problems and racial tension where none previously existed is evil, divisive
and illegal.
